Griffins Farm Campground – Morton National Park

Nestled in one of the valleys of Morton National Park, Griffins Farm Campground is a bit of a hidden gem and well worth the pedal of hike to visit.

I stayed the night at Griffins Farm while completing a bikepacking loop from Fitzroy Falls, but it is also on the Attack of the Buns route. The trail into the campground, in either direction, involved a steep and loose descent, so good bike handling skills are an added bonus to ensure safe arrival. The campsite is fairly basic, with a relatively new toilet and water access from nearby Yarrunga Creek.

There is plenty of camping space and the majority of the site is flat and grassy – you’re likely to have the place to yourself as Griffins Farm Campground is not accessible by car. As the site is in a deep valley, there’s not a lot of phone signal around, so a satellite communication device, like a Garmin inReach, is also a good idea.
